The effect of cultivar and stage of growth on the fermentation, aerobic stability and nutritive value of ensiled Quinoa

Quinoa can be an important source of silage as alternative forage crop. However, there is limited information on the ensiling quinoa. This study aimed to investigate fermentation quality, nutritive value and aerobic stability quinoa cultivars harvested at different plant growing stages. The experiment was carried out in experimental area Hatay Mustafa Kemal University, Faculty Agriculture 2019 2020 seasons. laid a split plot randomized block design with three replications, main plots were harvesting times (flowering, milky dough stages) five sub-plots (Mint Vanilla, Cherry French Red Head Titicaca). Traits such pH, ammonia nitrogen, lactic acid bacteria, acid, acetic butyric propionic ethanol, dry matter, neutral detergent fiber, lignin, crude protein, ash, ether extract, water soluble carbohydrate relative feed investigated determine quality value. In addition, all silages evaluated terms stability. Among cv. Titicaca Vanilla provided superior results compared other cultivars.
